Our Story

Welcome to Aged Care Report Card - where we take the guesswork out of finding quality aged care services for you.

We are a purposeful, social impact venture with a dedication and focus on improving the way elderly people and their families find quality aged care services and facilities through sharing verified reviews and ratings from real people involved with a particular service.

Our site was developed in response to the hundreds of seniors, family carers and health professionals we surveyed to better understand the needs of our ageing community. One of the main themes we found was that people were simply seeking more information than what was readily available online. Families in particular were overwhelmed by so much information and at the end of the day relied heavily on the word-of-mouth of their friends or people in their community.

Our Mission is to provide a platform that supports consumers in their decision making process and delivers honest and reliable feedback to providers to make the necessary improvements to their facilities or services


What is a Report Card?

All Aged Care Facilities are listed on our comprehensive aged care directory, each with a succinct easy to read “Report Card”.

You can find an Aged Care Facilities "Report Card" on our site simply by searching for a particular service name, service type, suburb or postcode. By signing up for FULL FREE access Report Card you will have access to the following:

  • Pricing information,
  • Photos,
  • Reviews, and much more.

Our database is regularly updated to present a complete directory of Aged Care Facilities and soon to launch Home Care Services, Retirement Villages, Placement Agencies and Financial Planning Services.

How much does the service cost?

We wanted to create a service that was free to consumers, so this means all the information we have available is delivered to you at no cost.

You will notice a sign-up box called “Gain FULL FREE Access”. By registering your email address you will be given the ability to read any reviews and compare ratings from real people involved with aged care services on our platform in full.

We do ask consumers to sign in before being able to read reviews. If you decide not to sign in you will still be able to see basic information such as: location and name of facility however the ratings and reviews will not be visible to you until you login.

The reason we have made the reviews ‘secure’, is so that we can begin to create a trusted community of people involved with aged care services and also understand who we are communicating to that way we can tailor your experience. We promise never to give your details away to a third party provider and will only communicate with you if you have indicated you want to hear from us. There will be an "opt-out" option at any time if you decide you no longer want to be involved with the community.

With the majority of people seeking aged care services from recommendations from friends and colleagues, we want to make this information publicly available as the online "word-of-mouth", where you will be able to find out if people would recommend a particular aged care service.


How are we funded?

Initially self-funded by it’s Founder Lauren Todorovic, who believes in improving the current system of information sharing to relieve the stress and anguish countless seniors and their families face when needing care. ACRC more recently received financial support from people that believe in ACRC's important cause from sophisticated private investors that equally believes in the cause.

We do not provide or any funding or sponsorship to aged care providers, aged care providers peak bodies, government or political parties.

We are committed to being independent from care providers, to ensure our integrity is upheld and are a transparent, neutral platform in the ecosystem to support seniors and their families. In the context of delivering our vision of continuously improving the quality of care seniors are provided with, we have developed a cloud based technology solution for providers to access to deeply understand the experience of people accessing their services. There is a cost associated for aged care providers to access this technology, however in the interest of making it accessible to all we have provided it at minimal cost, as our main objectives are to provide resources and tools that will help facilities understand seniors experience.

We are committed to delivering our community with quality reviews, therefore from time-to-time if a review is flagged for a follow up we may need to give a quick call to confirm everything checks out. This ensures our quality control is maintained and we can continue to provide 'you', a member of our community with honest reviews from real people. You’ve got our promise that we would never engage in any partnership or agreement that we wouldn’t be happy to share with our community.

We understand sometimes you may prefer to provide feedback anonymously, which is no problem as we have accommodated for your needs on our site. Leaving the final decision up to you. However unfortunately if you don't leave us with a valid email address or phone number we sadly have to remove your review. So please trust us that we will keep your details confidential and provide us with your real details.

The types of reviews we publish are:

  • (a) Family friendly,
  • (b) Authentic reviews of first hand experience,
  • (c) Relevant to other people searching for care,
  • (d) Constructive,
  • (e) Use a valid email address or phone number so that if needed can be contact by ACRC to validate the review.

Whilst we understand more serious issues may arise from time-to-time, we ask you please that any personal attacks, personal incidents, defamatory remarks on employees, residents or anyone involved with the service be directed to the care provider or the aged care complaints commissioner. If you can word your review in such a way that is constructive, then we would be happy to post it.
